Requests for loans, including real estate closing procedures, typically require financial research to be completed prior to conclusion. Historically the research was called "Lien Requests", where loan institutions and realty offices would contact the City of Inverness for financial and historical information related to a property or person relative to utilities, tax, code, zoning, etc. No longer limited to a review of payments, the gathering of information now crosses departments and requires extended effort to monitor progress.
A Research Fee of $50 per request has been established for the additional work and coordinating required to complete a request. Billing to those requesting research will be completed monthly.
All Research Requests need to be made in writing electronically (faxes will no longer be accepted), and shall be submitted on the respective Research Request form. The completed form must be submitted electronically via email.
The results of the Research Requests will be returned via email to the electronic address received at the time of submission. Research request fees are considered due for the research work performed and not for the results achieved for each research effort.
